Shop Visit: Spoon/Type One

Coverage in Tokyo wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of our favorite shops – Spoon and Type-One! It’s been 12 years since S&P staff have visited Spoon so this drop-in was easily overdue. It’s quite evident the shop space has evolved over the years. The ever-so-clean shop is chock full of Spoon/Type-One cars. The boxes of killer Spoon parts are everywhere. The hydraulic lifts for the cars up top and below were simply amazing. Check it out below!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at our destination!

I spot some nice Spoon N1 ECUs!

Let’s head downstairs to Type-One!

What do we have here? A Euro FN2 Civic Type-R Spoon-ified!

Amazing Spoon S2000 carefully backing up.

Inside the shop – very clean, very Japanese.

Signature shot of Type-One with all their neck breakers stored up top…

… and down bottom! Don’t worry, we’ll get to that Mugen RR below!

The Spoon CR-Z stored up top.

Large Professor put it best – “just hangin’ out”.

Here’s one with the traditional Spoon graphics and paint.

SSRs that see track duty.

Mugen RR! So necessary.

Space is a commodity in Japan and Type-One makes clever use of it.

Peep the ballin’ hoods up top!

Special thanks to Galen Wan for shooting the beautiful photos! Don’t forget to check our homeys at illmotion for their coverage as well! We’ll be moving onto more shop coverage this week so keep checking the site!
